Hongguang Jiang

Born in 1966 in Wendeng, Weihai, Shandong Province. Artist in Australia and New Zealand. 

He has been studying the works of famous artists since childhood such as Fan Kuan, Huang Gongwang, Xu Wei, Chen Chun, Bada Shanren, Shi Tao, Wu Changshuo, etc., and has acquired the true essence of various Chinese painting styles.

He studied Chinese Painting at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. Hongguang immigrated to New Zealand in 2002 and began to study Western art focusing on the artistic styles of Cezanne, Picasso, Dabies, Blok, Mondrian, Schiller, Modigliani, and Gauguin. He subsequently gained the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Auckland in 2007.

2018 to current-chairman of the Australian Contemporary Artists Association

2014 to current-chairman of the New Zealand Artists Association, the foreign art consultant of Shandong Painting Academy, the director of Shandong Overseas Exchange Association, and the honorary director of Guangdong Li Tiefu Art Museum.

Hongguang Jiang has also done many media presentations and special reports including CCTV4 “Chinese World – Jiang Hongguang’s Artistic Life”, Beijing Satellite TV, Travel Satellite TV, Shandong Satellite TV, Jiangmen Satellite TV, Weihai Satellite TV, Wendeng Satellite TV, New Zealand National Television Channel 1 and CTV8. His works are also collected by many universities, art galleries and the Great Hall of the People. New Zealand Post and Australia Post have issued animal and character stamp series based on his works.  His works have been auctioned by many auction houses such as Poly, Guardian, Rongbao and Hanhai for many years.

Hongguang Jiang has always been enthusiastic about public welfare at home and abroad. He actively pays attention to and calls for green environmental protection,and has been commended by authoritative organizations at home and abroad for many times. In 2009, he donated six large-scale oil paintings created by him to the “Capital Animal Protection Association”. In 2012, he won the annual “Public Contribution Award” of China Soong Ching Ling Foundation organized by China Central Television, he is the only Chinese New Zealander to receive this honor.In 2014, he participated in the first National Handicapped Works Exhibition of “Great Beauty in China, Humanitarian Call” (the first exhibition of the National Art Museum of China in Beijing, a national touring exhibition), sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China and the China Disabled Persons’ Federation. He donated his works to the disabled People’s Foundation, in which the auction funds are used to help the disadvantaged groups. In order to promote the exchange of art between China and New Zealand, he has organized Chinese artists to come to New Zealand for exhibitions, aiming to promote cultural exchanges between China and New Zealand, enhance the friendship between the people of China and New Zealand, and to enrich the cultural education of overseas Chinese.In 2014, the New Zealand Cultural and Art Exchange Association and the Shandong Provincial Government placed the “Nishan Bookstore” in New Zealand.

 Although Hongguang has lived overseas for many years, he has always been concerned about the cultural development of his hometown.  He has made outstanding contributions to promoting the development of cultural undertakings in his hometown and promoting the integration of Chinese painting with the world.  In 2012, he donated more than 60 works to Shandong Wendeng Museum; in 2016, he donated a batch of works of different styles and styles to Shandong Weihai Museum. To this end, the Wendeng Municipal Government of Shandong Province built the “Jiang Hongguang Art Museum” to recognize Mr. Jiang Hongguang’s contribution to his hometown.

 In 2013, he invited the New Zealand government delegation and the chairman of the New Zealand National Party, Peter Goodfellow, to lead a seven-member delegation of ministers to Weihai to attend the opening ceremony of Jiang Hongguang Art Museum.

姜宏光

1966年出生于山东省威海市文登区。旅澳紐艺术家。自幼临写范宽、黄公望、徐渭、陈淳、八大山人、石涛、吴昌硕等名家作品,深得诸家画风之精髓。曾就读于北京中央美术学院国画系。2002年移民新西兰,开始研究西方艺术,随后2004年-2007年就读于奥克兰大学艺术系。专注研究塞尚、毕加索、达比埃斯、勃洛克、蒙德里安、席勒、莫迪利亚尼、高更艺术风格。2018-现任澳大利亞当代美术家协会主席、2014-任新西兰美术家协会主席、山东画院对外艺术顾问、山东省海外交流协会理事、广东李铁夫美术馆名誉馆长等职务。

  中央电视台CCTV4《华人世界——姜宏光艺术人生》,北京卫视,旅游卫视,山东卫视,江门卫视,威海卫视,文登卫视,新西兰国家电视1台和CTV8,以及多家媒体都对姜宏光先生做过专题系列报道。其作品被多所大学,美术馆和人民大会堂收藏,并由新西兰邮政总局和澳大利亚邮局,以其作品为原型发行动物和人物邮票系列。其作品多年来一直在保利、嘉德、荣宝和翰海等多家拍卖公司拍卖。

  一直以来姜宏光先生热心国内外公益事业,积极关注和呼吁绿色环保,多次获得国内外权威机构的表彰。2009年将其创作的六幅大型油画作品捐助于“首都爱护动物协会”已壮大动物基金会,2012获得由中国中央电视台举办中国宋庆龄基金会年度“公益贡献奖”。也是唯一新西兰华人获此荣誉。2014参加《大美华夏,人道主义呼唤》首届全国助残作品展,(北京中国美术馆首展,全国巡回展),由中华人民共和国文化部和中国残疾人联合会主办,并将作品捐赠给残疾人基金会,拍卖资金用于帮助弱势群体。为促进中新艺术交流,组织中国艺术家来新西兰做展览,旨在推动中新两国文化交流、增进中新两国人民的友谊和丰富海外华人的文化教育。2014新西兰文化艺术交流协会和山东省政府将《尼山书屋》落户于新西兰。

  姜宏光先生虽移居海外多年,却也一直牵挂家乡的文化发展。为推动家乡的文化事业发展,促进国画与世界的相融做出了杰出的贡献。2012年向山东省文登博物馆捐赠作品60余幅;2016年向山东省威海市博物馆捐赠不同时期不同风格一批作品;2016年将其原创5幅精品花鸟无偿捐赠给山东省博物馆。为此,山东省文登市政府建了“姜宏光美术馆”用以表彰姜宏光先生对家乡的贡献。

  2013年邀请新西兰政府代表团、新西兰国家党主席彼得.古德费洛带领七人的部长代表团专程到威海参加姜宏光美术馆开馆仪式。
