Xu Huawen is a professional and experienced Chinese calligraphy and painting master. He has been delivering
Calligraphy and Chinese painting courses at the Confucius Institute at the University of Melbourne since 2009. Mr Xu was
a graduate of the Chinese Institute of Classical Art in Shanghai and was trained in Traditional Chinese Fine Art of
Calligraphy and Painting. In his youth he studied under an esteemed Chinese Calligraphy master. Expanding his artistic
horizons he undertook further study in western visual art in Australia, to infuse eastern influence with western visual art
idiosyncrasies.
Mr Xu has participated and exhibited in group and solo shows both in Australia and abroad. His works are cherished
pieces held by private and corporate collectors. He was also invited to public lectures to share his insights.
