Mr. Qingping Chen started career in 1977 as a scientific researcher at the Jiangsu Institute of Water Conservancy. He soon became the Deputy Director of its Research Office and won several scientific research awards, including the Jiangsu Province Major Scientific and Technological Invention Award.
In 1987 he arrived in Australia and was invited by the University of Melbourne as a visiting scholar for one year. He then worked in various industries using his broad knowledge and skills to reestablish himself in the new country. After retirement he picked up his passion in photography, traveling to many countries to capture the diverse cultures, history, the richness of humanities and society, the spectacular and exotic sceneries and the wonder of life, and to reflect his interpretations of all in his photos.
Interpret and show the world we live in through our own photography. He strives for excellence in his own works, and is happy to communicate and learn from friends. He joined the Victorian Chinese Photography Association, served as the second president, advocating diversity and inclusiveness in photography, and encouraging members to develop personalized photography arts and skills. He led the association to connect with broader communities through photography exhibitions and deliver lectures on photography for public.

陈庆平先生科研出身。大学毕业后进入江苏省水利科学研究所，任研究室副主任多年。期间曾多次获科研奖，包括江苏省重大科技发明奖。 1987年抵澳，受聘于墨尔本大学，作为访问学者一年。后进入钟表、计算机行业、自建咖啡甜品生意并足及民办教育直至退休。 陈先生知识面宽广，兴趣广泛多样。在摄影方面，初中时，就已自行设计、制作了简易照相机及洗、印像设备。退休后他将大量时间放在摄影爱好上。足及五大洲多国，用独特的眼光捕捉历史的厚度、人文社会的丰富多彩、山川的壮观灵秀、生灵的奇妙。他对自己的作品精益求精，摄影既有精致、新颖，又有大气恢宏。通过自己的摄影诠释、展示我们生活的世界。
陈先生在参加维多利亚州华人摄影协会后，曾任第二届会长，提倡摄影艺术多元化、包容性并鼓 励会员们发展个性化的摄影艺术和技巧。将协会的定期交流和大型影展活动逐渐形成正规化模式，并多次为摄影爱好者作义务专题讲座。
