Xincong Liu

Professor Liu Xincong is a member of the Chinese Musicians Association (CMA) and former member of the Women’s Committee of the 9th,10th and 11th Central Committee of the China Democratic League.  During her vocal music teaching career of nearly 40 years, Professor Liu had served various roles with the Music Department of China Capital Normal University, including the Director of Vocal Music Teaching, Director of the Steering Committee for Teaching, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee, Professor of vocal music, adviser to the master’s degree candidates of vocal music.  Professor Liu had studied at the Masters Class of The Central Conservatory of Music and was once a visiting scholar in the Department of Music Education of Gifu University in Japan.

Professor Liu has successfully held various vocal solo concerts of her own as well as teaching concerts. Her ten-performer teaching concert was broadcast through the CCTV Music channel and was highly appraised by the then CMA Chairman Mr Shi Lemeng and her peers of the music profession. Professor Liu is the author of “History of the European Vocal Music” (published by the China Youth Press) and author of dozens of published academic journal articles. 

Amongst the students coached by Professor Liu, there have been prize winners at both the international and the domestic vocal competitions including the Bellini International Vocal Competition. Professor Liu was also awarded the Excellent Instructor Award at a number of international and domestic vocal competitions. 

During her teaching career, Professor Liu was appointed member of the various CMA Panels for the Examination of Special Talented Undergraduates, and member of the Expert Panel for China CCTV’s column program “The Shenzhou Grand Stage” and other column programs.   Professor Liu is now living in Australia. She is the current President of the Australian Chinese Chorus Association, the founder, artistic director and standing conductor of the Melbourne Warblers Choir.

刘新丛

中国音乐家协会会员，曾任第九、十、十一届中国民盟中央委员会妇女委员、首都师范大学音乐系教学主任、教学指导委员会主任、学术委员会副主任、声乐教授、声乐硕士生导师，从事声乐教育近四十年；曾就读于中央音乐学院研究生班，日本岐阜大学音乐学院访问学者；举办过多场个人独唱音乐会和教学音乐会，其中刘新丛教学10人音乐会等由中央电视台音乐频道转播，受到时任中国音协主席时乐濛等业内专家和同行的高度赞誉。著有《欧洲声乐史》（中国青年出版社出版），发表专业学术论文数十篇，所教授学生在国际国内声乐比赛如贝里尼国际声乐比赛等大型赛事中获奖，本人也多次获得国际国内声乐大赛优秀指导教师奖；曾多次担任中国音协大学生特长生考试评委、中央电视台《神州大舞台》等专栏节目的专家评委。现旅澳，任澳大利亚华人合唱协会主席、墨尔本夜莺合唱团创办人、艺术总监、常任指挥。
